I have a full wine barrel (and another 1/2 barrel) that I want to cut in half to make large planters for 2 yucca trees and another cactus that have all overgrown their large plastic planters. I was thinking about putting wheels on the bottom before filling. Any tips on a project like this before I get started will be gratefully appreciated. TY.

Thu, July 16, 2009 - 10:44 PMlifting it up with pavers or bricks would decrease your chances for rot on the bottom, and aid drainage, and i don't see why you couldn't line it with plastic but it may actually speed up the rot since it traps moisture . -
